Description
Boiler Throttle Valve
A throttling valve is used to reduce the steam flow rate and to prevent steam flashing. Without a throttling valve false reading may be sent to your boiler blowdown controller, resulting in the boiler blowdown valve to power on/off repeatedly. A boiler blowdown orifice assembly may also be used in replace of a boiler globe valve.Improper control of your boiler blowdown controller will also increase blowdown rates, increased energy costs, and increase steam boiler chemicals use. . These valves are installed prior to the sensor to insure an accurate conductivity reading across the boiler sensor. Failure to reduce flow will result in inaccurate readings.
