Description
Synthetic Rust Inhibitor
ChemWorld ALTO 408 is a water based immersion and/or spray inhibitor based on unique amine chemistry. Imperceptible film and excellent sump clarity. This product is typically feed at 2% to 3% by volume with water, but may be higher depending on how long corrosion protection is needed. ChemWorld ACS oil based product will last longer than ChemWorld ALTO 408. This product is to simply protect the surface of the metal flash rusting after a cleaning. It will not double as a paint or straight oil based rust inhibitor used at 100% by volume.
We provide private labeling of products from 2 oz to tankers. Please email us at Quotes@ChemWorld.com for more information.
We are looking for a less expensive alternative to fluids presently on the market designed to be used to keep metal sharpening stones (tools) from rusting after use with a water based fluid/solution. The product would have to be a non-oil, water soluble additive that is safe to use with bare hands. Of course, it would have to be effective at helping to wash away metal particles that build up on the sharpening stone and be effective at preventing the development of rust on steel plates. Any recommendations?
We would recommend using this product at 3 to 5% BV in water by itself after use, and in many cases, can be added to water based fluids to increase corrosion prevention. (We would always pre-test and read the SDS on the ALTO 408 prior to mixing with any fluid. Amine containing 408 should not be mixed in the same tank with nitrite containing fluids). If your current fluid is a nitrite based grinding product, we would recommend using the ALTO 418 as a post application product. The 408 is an easier to ship and handle formula when comparing both formulas.
ChemWorld ALTO 408 - Water based immersion and spray inhibitor based on unique amine chemistry. Imperceptible film and excellent sump clarity.
Note: ANY water based solution, even just the water itself, can cause dermatitis on the skin over time. We would still recommend the use of gloves when handling.
