Directions:

1. Fill the syring with the water to be tested to 5 ml mark.
2. Empty the 5ml syring into the testing vial.
3. Add 6 drops of Nitrite Indicator Solution.
4. If the water turns Blue, NO nitrite is present and report zero.
5. If the water turns Red, continue the test.
6. Add Nitrite Indicator Solution, drop by drop, until the solution turns Blue or a Blue/Green for 15 seconds.
7. The NaNo2 reading of the water is in ppm and is equal to the drops used times the factor of the test.

Can I accomplish my testing of boiler water at operating temperature or do I need to wait for room temperature?

Testing at operating temperature can be very dangerous due to the temperature. We recommend installing a Boiler Sample Cooler for safe testing.
