DROP TEST IODINE (1 drop = 2.5 or 5 ppm)

COMPONENTS: 1 x 5055 Instruction 1 x 9188 Sample Tube, Graduated, 50 mL, plastic w/cap 1 x R-0725 Acid Starch Indicator Powder 1 x R-0846 PAO Reagent, DB.

1. Rinse and fill 50 mL sample tube (#9188) to desired mark with water to be tested. NOTE: For 1 drop = 2.5 ppm, fill to 50 mL mark. For 1 drop = 5 ppm, fill to 25 mL mark.
2. Add 2 dippers R-0725 Acid Starch Indicator Powder. Swirl until dissolved. Sample will turn blue if iodine is present.
3. Add R-0846 PAO Reagent dropwise, swirling and counting after each drop, until color changes from blue to colorless. Always hold bottle in vertical position.
4. Multiply drops in Step 3 by drop equivalence (Step 1). Record as parts per million (ppm) iodine.
