DROP TEST

CHLORINE DIOXIDE (1 drop = 0.2 ppm)

COMPONENTS: 2 x 4030 Pipets, Calibrated 0.5 & 1.0 mL, plastic w/cap 1 x 5001 Instruction 1 x 9198 Sample Tube, Graduated, 25 mL, plastic w/cap 1 x R-0813 Glycine Solution 1 x R-0814 EDTA Solution 1 x R-0815 FAS Titrating Solution, DB 1 x R-0870 DPD Powder.

1. Rinse and fill 25 mL sample tube (#9198) to 25 mL mark with water to be tested.
2. Using a 1.0 mL pipet (#4030), add 1.0 mL R-0813 Glycine Solution. Swirl to mix.
3. Add 1 dipper R-0870 DPD Powder. Swirl until dissolved. Sample will turn pink if chlorine dioxide is present.
4. Using a separate 1.0 mL pipet, add 1.0 mL R-0814 EDTA Solution. Swirl to mix.
5. Add R-0815 FAS Titrating Solution dropwise, swirling and counting after each drop, until color changes from pink to colorless. Always hold bottle in vertical position. NOTE: Disregard any reappearance of pink color.
6. Multiply drops of R-0815 FAS Titrating Solution by 0.2. Record as parts per million (ppm) chlorine dioxide.
