Hardness Test Kits
Calcium and magnesium salts dissolved in water cause hardness which can lead to scale. A standard solution of chelant is used to titrate the hardness in the sample. The indicator changes from red to blue at the titration end point. We offer a variety of hardness test kits including total, calcium, and trace with powder and liquid indicators. Our hardness test kits have a low end sensitivity of less than 0.5 ppm to better detect trace hardness levels. What is the difference between the TK3051-Z kit and the TK3055-Z kit? Our TK3051-Z uses a powder indicator and the TK3055-Z uses a liquid indicator.I am looking for a total hardness kit to test the hardness in a metalworking fluid. It will need to account for magnesium and calcium based hardness. Which kit do you recommend? Our TK3051-Z measures total hardness (Mg and Ca) the titrants are 1 drop =10 ppm and 1 drop = 2ppm as CaCO3. We use a water salt softener in our building and want to make sure that the salt softener is working so we wants to test the levels of the calcium in the water. What is the best and most economical kit to do so? We recommend kit # TK3057-Z - 1 drop = 0.5ppm CaCO.
