What is a Silicone Based Defoamer?
ChemWorld S, Silicone Defoamer, is a 10% active silicone antifoam for a wide range of applications. It is useful in process, waste treatment, cleaning and certain other applications where silicone can be used.

This product is an excellent, fast acting material for surfactant-generated foams which can cause cleaning or treatment problems. In systems where continuous agitation and/or source of foam causing agents exist, continuous treatment will be required.

This particular version is not FDA approved for food applications.

We have a waste water evaporator and we are looking to buy Defoamer (boiling water).

We confirmed with manufacturing that a silicone Defoamer would acceptable in the gas fired “water evaporating” machine boiling at ~220F – temperature should not be an issue.We do not have specific knowledge of this process however we believe a silicone defoamer may be effective.
