Muriatic Acid Alternative
ChemWorld CID LH is a low pH organic salt (60% solution of Urea HydroChloride) that is commonly used as a replacement of inhibited diluted blends of Muriatic Acid. ChemWorld CID LH performs like acid and is designed to minimize attack on base metal of equipment or parts being cleaned. ChemWorld CID LH is effective in removing calcium based deposits from boilers, cooling, and process equipment. ChemWorld CID LH should only be used by personnel who have been specifically trained in mineral scale cleaning operations.Benefits of ChemWorld CID-LH:
- Ships as a non-hazardous product that has an acid strength equivalent to 60% muriatic acid.

- Low pH organic salt that performs like an acid.
- Non-fuming
- A more effective cleaner as compared to inhibited acid products and other non-acid cleaners.
- May be diluted to perform to other Muriatic Acid strengths. Example: If you are using 20% Inhibited Muriatic Acid, simply dilute the product: 1 part ChemWorld CID-LH with 2 parts water. This makes the product comparable to a 20% solution of Meratic Acid.
- ChemWorld Q-CID LH is very similar to Rydlyme except it is more concentrated and safer to use.
- Cleanup is faster and/or at lower dosages when compared against common acids used for cleaning such as sulfamic, phosphoric, or hydrochloric acids and also against other cleaning products.
ChemWorld CID LH is sold in 60% concentration form. It is typically utilized at concentrations ranging from 5 - 20% depending on the amount of deposit and type of equipment to be cleaned. The product should be fed directly from the container into the system to an area with adequate mixing. Best results are possible when the temperature of the cleaning solution can be heated, but not to exceed 140F. Venting may be necessary when cleaning certain process equipment to minimize gas buildup.
